FileZilla settings for our LiveLAMP server


This setup will have to be done when you change computers OR if the computer that you use is reimaged.
In the Filezilla menu options of 'File' and then 'Site Manager', create a new site using the following settings
  • rename the 'New FTP site' to the LiveLamp username given to you by your teacher
  • Host: 10.60.40.60
  • Port: 22
  • Servertype: SFTP using SSH2
  • Logontype: Normal
  • User: s001 [replace this with your LiveLamp username given to you by your teacher]
  • Password: [use your LiveLamp password given to you by your teacher]
  • Don't save password: [ensure that this is ticked]
  • press the 'Advanced' button
    • Default local directory: navigate to the folder on your H: drive where you will store your PHP files - eg H:\PHP
    • Default remote directory: /ramdisk/home/s001/public_html/ [replace s001 with the LiveLamp username given to you by your teacher]
  • press the 'Connect' button

Test that the Filezilla setup is working

  • Using Filezilla, copy the file 'index.html' from your H:\PHP folder to the LiveLamp server
  • Using the browser window you have open to test your work enter a URL like the following where the 's001' is replaced with your LiveLamp username given to you by your teacher.
http://10.60.40.60/~s001/index.html
  • The text displayed in the browser should read 'Your LiveLamp setup is working
